  • 2 medium onions (diced)
  • 34 tablespoons tomato paste
  • 1 (28-ounce) can diced tomatoes
  • 1 (28-ounce) can tomato sauce
  • 2 (15-ounce) cans red kidney beans (drained)
  • 2 cups broth (beef or chicken)

Instructions

  1. In a Dutch oven over medium-high heat, brown the ground beef until fully cooked. Remove from pot and set aside.
  2. In the same pot, sauté diced onions for about 5-7 minutes until soft. Add spices: salt, cumin, garlic powder, chili powder, and sugar.
  3. Stir in tomato paste and cook for another 1-2 minutes before adding diced tomatoes and tomato sauce; bring to simmer.
  4. Return cooked beef to the pot along with drained kidney beans. Pour in broth and mix well.
  5. Let simmer for at least 15-20 minutes to enhance flavors before serving.
