  • 2 tbsp Pure Maple Syrup
  • 1 tsp Vanilla Extract
  • 2 tbsp Whole Milk (for frosting)
  • 2 cups Sifted Powdered Sugar
  • 1/8 tsp Salt (for frosting)
  • 1 tbsp Water (for frosting)

Instructions

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine warm milk and instant yeast. Let it sit for about 5 minutes until foamy.
  2. Add in flour, light brown sugar, ground cinnamon, salt, pumpkin puree, melted butter, and lightly beaten egg. Mix until combined.
  3. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5 minutes until smooth.
  4. Place dough in a greased bowl. Cover it with plastic wrap or a kitchen towel. Let it rise in a warm area for about 60 minutes or until doubled in size.
  5. In a small bowl, mix together light brown sugar, granulated sugar, ground cinnamon, ground ginger, ground nutmeg, allspice, and ground cloves for the filling.
  6. After rising, roll out the dough on a floured surface into a rectangle about ¼ inch thick. Spread room temperature butter evenly over the dough and sprinkle the filling mixture on top.
  7. Starting from one long side of the rectangle, carefully roll up the dough into a log shape. Slice into 6 equal pieces and place them cut-side up on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
  8. Cover with plastic wrap or a kitchen towel again. Let rise for another 30 minutes.
  9. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Bake for approximately 25 minutes or until golden brown.
  10. While rolls are baking, beat together room temperature butter with powdered sugar until creamy. Add in maple syrup, vanilla extract, milk, and salt; mix until smooth.
  11. Once baked rolls cool slightly but are still warm, spread maple frosting generously over each roll before serving.
