  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter
  • 4 ounces dark chocolate
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 tablespoons cocoa powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup pumpkin puree
  • 1 cup evaporated milk
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1/8 teaspoon ginger powder
  • 1/8 teaspoon ground cloves
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 325°F (170°C). Line an 8×8 inch baking pan with aluminum foil and lightly grease it.
  2. Melt the unsalted butter and dark chocolate together in a saucepan over low heat. Stir in granulated sugar until combined, then mix in eggs one at a time. Gradually add flour, cocoa powder, and salt until just blended.
  3. Pour the brownie mixture into the prepared pan and bake for 20 minutes.
  4. In a mixing bowl, whisk together pumpkin puree, evaporated milk, egg, vanilla extract, brown sugar, spices, and cornstarch until smooth.
  5. Pour the pumpkin filling over the baked brownie layer and return to the oven for an additional 30–35 minutes until set. Cool completely before slicing.
