  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 1/4 cup whole milk
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 tablespoon milk
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a muffin tin with cupcake liners.
  2. In one bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda, cinnamon, and salt.
  3. Cream butter and sugar together until fluffy. Add eggs one by one, followed by vanilla.
  4. Alternate adding dry ingredients and sour cream to the butter mixture until just combined.
  5. For the swirl: mix brown sugar and cinnamon with melted butter until paste-like.
  6. Fill cupcake liners with batter, add a spoonful of the swirl mixture, then top with more batter.
  7. Bake for 18–22 minutes until a toothpick comes out clean. Cool before glazing.
