  • 6 oz cream cheese
  • 1/2 stick room temperature butter
  • 3/4 cup powdered sugar
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon (for frosting)
  • 3 tbsp maple syrup

Instructions

  1. Brown the butter in a saucepan over medium heat until golden and nutty. Set aside to cool.
  2. In another pan, sauté chopped apples with butter and cinnamon until tender, then allow to cool.
  3. In a mixing bowl, combine cooled browned butter and brown sugar, then add eggs and vanilla; mix until smooth.
  4. In another bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, salt, cinnamon, and nutmeg; gradually add to wet ingredients.
  5. Fold in cooled caramelized apples gently.
  6. Pour batter into a greased baking pan and bake at 350°F (175°C) for 35–45 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  7. For frosting, beat cream cheese and butter together; gradually add powdered sugar, cinnamon, and maple syrup until fluffy.
  8. Once blondies cool completely, frost them generously and slice into squares before serving.
