  • 1 cup unsalted butter
  • 2 cups granulated sugar
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup cocoa powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 16 oz cream cheese (softened)
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 6 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1 teaspoon sea salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Melt butter in a mixing bowl and mix with granulated sugar until well combined.
  2. Add eggs one at a time, mixing thoroughly after each addition. Stir in vanilla extract.
  3. Sift together flour, cocoa powder, and salt in another bowl; gradually combine with wet ingredients until just mixed.
  4. Pour brownie batter into a greased 9-inch springform pan and bake for 25-30 minutes until a toothpick comes out clean. Allow cooling completely.
  5. Beat softened cream cheese and granulated sugar until smooth, then add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition along with vanilla and sour cream.
  6. Pour cheesecake mixture over cooled brownie layer and bake for an additional 30-35 minutes until set but still slightly jiggly in the center.
  7. For caramel sauce, melt granulated sugar over medium heat until golden brown; stir in butter and heavy cream carefully, then add sea salt.
  8. Drizzle warm caramel over cooled cheesecake and refrigerate for at least 2 hours before serving.
